Problem accessing AOL Mail & Downloading Files

Windows XP OEM Home edition

HP 1210Y desktop

cookies & java are ENABLED on both Firefox 1.5 AND Internet explorer 6.0

Keep getting messages such as "This object has been blocked" when using firefox to download Glovepie (or anyother site to download)

When trying to get the latest update from Windows I get Error number 0X800A1391 initialization error. Is the a Active-X problem ?

We have cookies & Javascript enabled in both IE & Firefox

Have run ad-aware, spybot, Virus scan with NOD32. Nothing found, Have SP2 and most critical updates until the last month.

Recent changes My son loaded IVT Bluesoeil (blue tooth application) and software for his Belkin Bluetooth

Anyone have any Ideas ? this one has me stumped.
