HI,

I recently started upgrading the pcs on the network (Windows Server 2003) to WinXP Pro.

The upgrades went through well, no real hitches. However, some did not take and had to do a clean install. Afterwards, I have an issue with opening documents. The users receive an error of:

'Either BOF or EOF is true, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.'

'Please make necessary changes and try again.'

The documents (usually from Office) are opened via a 3rd party software (Mortgage Office). I have scoured the software for possible conflicts or permission problems and even spent hours on with their tech support to resolve it with no success (they insist it is a server problem).

I can't make heads or tales of it and have tried everything (including full reinstalls multiple times).

Does anyone have any idea how to remedy this issue? Microsoft points to a fix that is old and not finalized.

TIA,

-chero

Have you gathered network traces on the client and server simultaneously, to see what's happening on the wire when the error occurs?

Also, it is possible it's a client issue - but if you've reinstalled multiple times, unless you've reinstalled each time _exactly_ the same as before... I'd start with network traces on client and server simultaneously, and go from there.
