CelticWhisper Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I'm trying to run NetBeans 5.5 for a project I'm working on. However, the IDE refuses to launch, repeatedly telling me I must specify the userdir with the --userdir parameter.I've tried setting the netbeans_userdir variable to a few different values in the netbeans.conf file and still the IDE will not launch. This is on a WinXP SP2 system with JDK 1.6.0.I appreciate any insight you can offer.
mskid Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I have used NetBenas 5.5 on WinXP SP2 system with JDK 1.6.0 without setting any "userdir". It works fine.I suggested trying to uninstall it *completely* and install it afresh. It should be a few minutes' work. Check if JAVA_HOME is set to a right place. Thanks
mskid Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 If that does not work, try to forget it and install 5.5.1 from a fresh beginning. I did once install 5.0 and 5.5beta in the same machine and it worked fine.
