Need help fixing my start menu

Hey guys,

Well, I just finished installing Vista Home Premium, and all went pretty well... Of course, I relocated my documents and picture links on the start menu to a different drive. That went pretty okay. Then I got rid of the old hard drive, which had several partitions. To make everything nice and tidy, I rearranged the drive letters, merrily ignoring any warnings about potential problems. Now, as a result, on my start menu (the new Vista, non-classic one) the Documents and Pictures buttons don't do... anything. A right-click gives me the option to copy, rename, or go into properties. Properties, unforuntately yields nothing as well--it opens up, but there are no properties to speak of. I tried typing in the proper location, but apparently the information doesn't stick. It bears noting that the Games and Music buttons render all the normal open/explore/search, etc... on a right-click. Somehow the Doc and Pics folders have become different types of links.

So... first of all, I need to know how to even put a dent in these links, and secondly, if it's not obvious after the first step, how to get them to do *anything*, much less point to the proper locations. Is there a folder buried in the system files that I can access to fix this, or perhaps within the registry?

Regardless... please, help!!!

Well, I figured it out for myself.

I tried reinstalling the OS as an upgrade, which... didn't do anything.

I don't know why it occurred to me afterwards, but I then created the partition letters that I had deleted, and voila!, I had access to my start menu docs and pictures. After that, it was simply a matter of editing the location. Then I could nuke those partitions again.

Hope this helps anyone else with this problem.
