Creating a fake input device driver

Hi to all

Does anyone know how I can create a fake device driver,

so that I can generate myself input data through an application

and make the OS believe that they come from an existing physical input device.

Actually, I don't really plan to generate the input data,

but rather receive them through a remote machine

and feed them into the local machine, like being generated in the latter.

Any information is acceptable (guidelines, sample code, links etc.)
