fpbear Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 (edited) I couldn't find the author contact info for the page at http://www.msfn.org/win2k3/.The installer for the System Restore enhancement tried to add SRService to the SvcHost section of the registry. In doing so, it appears to have wiped out the AeLookupSvc entry in the list of services belonging to netsvcs. After this install, an error kept popping up that a service failed. I added AeLookupSvc to the netsvcs list and the error disappeared.I suggest taking a look at the installer to see if it's overwriting this registry entry.Excellent web page, many thanks to the author!! EddieZ Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Thanks for the remark. I guess this "AeLookupSvc" is not really that important if you use 2003 as a workstation. You just might as well turn the service off.
