Text to Speech

Using vista premium here!

What I want is for Narrator to read/speak only AFTER I tell it to and only what I tell it to , like after pressing a keyboard shortcut or something.

Currently Narrtor speaks EVERYTHING. Even after pressing Ctrl key it still starts speaking(describing the window) after an alt-tab.

I Have tried checking unchecking all all options but to no avail.

Also is it possible to make it read "selected text" or "clipboard content"?

and is there any alternative to narrator? Probably that uses Microsoft's Sam voice aswell and is free.

Thanks that does seem to do everything I want, but it isn't free.
