Hi all,

Have done a few searches on this site for disabling the current Adobe updater via registry.. I would like to add this to my script for new computers I setup. Currently using Adobe Reader 8.0 and Elements 5.0. Also have Photoshop CS2 and others. Havent been able to disable this yet so any help would be greatley appreciated.

Great forum by the way I have found several solutions to a few problems I have had while trying to build the script :)

Cheers.

Scrap that, found this just before :)

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Updater]

"Enterprise"=dword:00000001

I was looking for this entry but it has to be created. Simple solution in the end.

This does not seem to work as I have done it and still get the annoying updater. It also persistently creates the Update5 folder in your My Documents, even after deleting it.

The only trick that really works is to rename or delete adobeupdater.dll. I prefer renaming it to adobeupdater.dll.bak rather than deleting it.

No more updater and no more Update5 folder.
