MCE 2002 TV does not work

I have a toshiba sattilite P25-S670 laptop. It has a tv tuner built in the machine and is about 2 years old.

CPU: Pentium 4 3.20GHz with HT

RAM: 2G

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700, 128MB DDR

System: MCE 2002

Windows Media Player: 10 (can't install wmp 11 because i have the true mce 2002, so sad)

When i open up windows media center it will open fine like normal but when i click on 'watch live TV' it will go into the function and sit there and think and then display the TV program for about 3 seconds then freeze up. Nothing works after that whatsoever. I have to ctrl-alt-del and do the end program thing to make the horror stop. I try to open the program again and it doesn't work anymore. I had this CoDec pack (ACE Mega CoDecS Pack) installed which i found out was giving me grief which i promptly uninstalled. It was doing some kind of Re-Clock error or something. Basically what it all boils down to is that this computer is functioning as my TV and I'm missing Myth Busters and Battlestar Galactica so i really want to get this problem fixed so i can get my fix every week. Any insight will help thanks.
