JFord Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 (edited) Hello,To make a long story short - I got two hard disks, and I've installed Vista on one of them, when I got Windows XP on the other hard disk. Now I want to format my Windows XP hard disk and install a fresh install of Vista. But before I do so I'd like to remove the Vista that I already haveon my other hard disk.So I looked for a guide on removing Vista on the internet. And I've used the Fixboot and Fixmbr and it worked(I got my old boot.ini back). But for the next step - removing Windows folder, Boot folder, and Bootmgr file, I can't do. Even from the Recovery Console I get an Access Denied, and also Attrib wouldn't work. And now I can't run Vista since I used Fixboot to get my old boot.ini back. So my question is - Is there any way to remove those folders? And will I need to re-install Vista on that drive again?I can always format that drive but I'd like to avoid that.(I assume that it won't give me a problem formatting Thanks in advance to all helpers,JFord.Edit: I've tryied disabling simple file share, and getting the ownership back with the replace owner on subcontainers and objects option, but I still get the same denied access error.Edit2: Checked an inherit checkbox and now it works sorry for bothering Edited January 30, 2007 by JFord
