Help with DriverPacks/Ryan's VM -- Windows Hangs on Install

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I'm sorry if this question or questions like it have been answered in the past over and over again but I've been trying to do this on my own for the last few days and I've been doing google searches and forum searches and I'm finally at a dead end.

So my problem is this: After integrating RyansVM, DriverPacks and making the ISO, windows hangs at the "installing devices" section.

At first this happened right at the beginning of the installing devices and I found out that you shouldn't edit the winnt.sif file after using driverpacks so I went ahead and ripped my cd again with RyansVM (which auto-integrates the hot fixes too) and then put my custom winnt.sif file into the i386 folder and made another ISO. This time I thought everything was working great, instead of hanging at the beginning of installing devices it was making some progress now. This progress was short lived however since it hangs at the very end (full green bar) of installing devices.

If I just integrate RyansVM and DriverPacks and make an ISO it installs flawlessly, but the moment I try to use my own winnt.sif file for a "provide defaults" unattended installation I get hooped. WTF am I doing wrong?

Here's my winnt.sif file

PS. When I mean windows hangs, I mean it stops progressing, I can still move the mouse around. When answering this question, you will have to explain everything since I am a noob to unattended installations (this would be my first). Thank you so much for the help.
