System Event Notification

I have this service called System Event Notification. It's set to automatic but it never starts, I try to start it but it doesn't. Bad?

as far as i know this service is used by windows to log events from windows logons, computers in network among other things i cant remember. i dont think you are in problems without it but its etrange that it is malfunctioning.
