kuringai
I have Windows XP (legit) and Office XP (non-legit) on my Dell Inspiron 6400. Automatic update is trying to install the lastest service pack which it's downloaded, and when it tries to install an error comes up saying it can't find proplus.msi, and cancels. I don't have the CD as it's non-legit and evidently don't have the file. I'm not really bothered by not getting the service pack update, but it tries to install the update every time I boot up, and it's locking up my computer. How do I get rid of the downloaded update to prevent it trying to install? Thanks.
Bezalel
Change your AU settings to prompt you to install instead of installing automatically. When propmpted choose a custom install and deselect the Service Pack and tell it never to install it, then you can change your AU settings back to automatic install.
