Hardware Wizard

I recently installed an 80 Gig external Seagate harddrive using the USB Port. I am running XP Professional on a rather old HP Pavilion 8210 chip I believe. The Hardware Wizard recognized the Hardware , but could not find the driver. I contacted Seagate but the only help I got was that XP should recognize and load the correct driver. I managed to find Seagate Drivers and loaded them along with new USB updates. The drive works properly, but when I reboot the Hardware Wizard detects new hardware and still can not find the drivers. This is also the case on the internal hard drive also, but both are working properly. How do I make the Hardware Wizard recognize this hardware and the drivers? I will appreciate any help.
