durerca Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Right after installing IE7, I've had a problem with Outlook taking a long time whenever it first opens an email formatted in html. All other aspects of the program are working fine. It starts normally, it opens plain-text emails quickly, but as soon as I want to open an email formatted with html, it stalls for about 20 seconds or more before it will finish opening. This behavior only started after IE7 was installed and I've made no other changes to my system. I've noticed this slow down with some other programs that require html parsing but Outlook has been the most affected. Is there any hope for resolving this (aside from uninstalling IE7)? Is anybody else experiencing this? Thank you for any help. I've been looking on Microsoft's knowledgebase and through search engines but I couldn't find much information.
Aragorn7 Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Well, I know this is a long time since you posted, but I just now found your post by googling. I, too, have the identical problem. I have uninstalled IE7 twice and each time Outlook 2003 works beautifully. Once reinstalled it takes a loooong time to load the first HTML page, but them seems fine for the most part. I now have IE7 uninstalled. When someone reports that Microsoft has fixed the problem, I'll be happy to reinstall it. I also thought IE7 was slower in browsing than IE6. Turning off the Phish filter didn't seem to improve it. I went back to using Firefox 2.0 - much faster and my Outlook is working great once again.
