shortfoot
Hello, I have a user that insists on keeping every email other than spam. Over the last three years he has acquired over 3-4 gigs worth (lot's of attachments, needed attachments). We've set him up a seperate (actually two) pst files to keep his old data in. However, since Outlook still opens these other pst's for his viewing every time it starts, it's very slow (I mean, that's around 4 gigs of emails!)So, my question is ~ Is there another program he could use that can work with large pst files, or a program I could export all his old emails (Inbox, different folders, sent items etc etc) to where he could bring it up if he had the need to go back, then I could leave his current PST file in outlook as a much smaller file, therefore making it much more reliable and speedy? Thank you!He is using Outlook 2002
fizban2
outlook 2003 would allow for a larger PST size, you might want to look into why are that is needed, possibly some archiving solution, keep the last 6 months information in one PST and after 6 months, archive it and save the PST to his backup drive or Burn it to DVD. depends on how you are setup to do back ups and such
