Office 2003 Problems

Need help. Something in my install of Office 2003 Pro must be corrupt. I could not install the latest updates. This has happened before and I would uninstall/reinstall Office and this would fix the problem. When I used add/remove I got the message "Cannot apply this patch...." Now I am stuck-cannot update and cannot uninstal. It will not let me do a repair ect. I tried using the install cd and this resulted in an "error." I have exhausted my limited knowledge. Can someone help with either fixing present install or removing it? Thanks in advance.
