How to setup a boot cd for unattended + REPAIR (section 5 below) (Done on XP Professional post sp2):

1. Slipstream latest service pack into source CD on hard disk c:\xpcd orig & C:\xpcd sp2 (Note: "xpcd orig" is where i386 directory is).

2. Use www.ryanvm.net/msfn/ to Integrate the "latest updates"+WMP10+WGA into above c:\xpcd. Used version 1.4.1 integrator with:

"Post-SP2 Update Pack 2.1.2 September 17, 2006"

+"RyanVM WMP10 Addon 2.9 August 14, 2006"

+"RyanVM WGA Addon 1.5.540.0 July 14, 2006"

3. Optional: Added a directory "c:\xpcd\Add ons" for software that I like, and may install, also "Last Setting" file is nlite settings used to make this.

4. Use www.nliteos.com ,sections "Unattended Setup" + tweaks(optional) + "Create a Bootable ISO" in c:\xpcd as follows:

"Unattended Setup":

Information TAB:

Oem Preinstall: (Uncheck)

Administrator TAB:

Fullname: Anything

Autologin: (Check)

Blank Password: (Check)

General TAB:

Product Key: xxxx-xxxx...

Classic Themes: (Check) but may be you like the flashy look

System Restore: Turn Off

Network Id TAB:

WorkGroup: Anything

Computer Name: PC

Regional TAB:

Timezone: Set it

Automatic Updates TAB:

Download and Install

Elevate non-admins: (Check)

Every Day

When you get to "Create a Bootable ISO", before you click on "Make ISO" go to next step (don't exit). Used nlite version 1.0.1.

5. To get the repair option: Take out the whole [unattended] section of C:\xpcd\i386\winnt.sif. (except for the EULA and register at the begining and end, the whole gui is unattended).

6. Go back to nlite and click on "Make ISO".

7. Now you can burn it. To test without using up CDs or PCs, use www.VMWARE.com.
