HOW TO: Set QuickLaunch Toolbar to on for all newly created users...

Posted (edited)

Set up your Quicklaunch toolbar exactly how you want it.

Open Regedit and navigate to...

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Desktop

Export this part of the registry to your desktop (or where-ever suits you)

Open the exported reg file in notepad (or what-ever suits you)

Change the key name TaskbarRegXP to Default Taskbar (Personal)

And change [HKEY_CURRENT_USER] to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE]

Save the reg file and execute it..

Wollah!

Any newly created users will have the quick launch bar enabled and set to how you like it. :w00t:

I know there is a hex haxXxx for it, just dont have it on me... seen it in here before. Also, MS features a script free of charge which u can grab that will do it for u with BDD 2.5. However, it is a dirty and uggly script that uses send keys..

If u want i done before the actual first logon (default user) u prolly have to kick it from cmdlines.txt which is a good place to start of with.
