jnagrodski
So i am having an issue with vista booting correctly. Every time it boots it always says Windows Vista Setup. Now i have looked in bcdedit and it doesnt say anything about Vista setup being there. This is where things get a little wierd. If i have my RC1 disk in vista boots fine, but if i dont have my RC1 disk in vista doest boot at all. I get an error msg about vista not being able to find winload.exe. there is what comes up in bcdedit. now the only thing i can think of is that on the boot manager it is that it is looking for device D: now is it possible that it is looking for my dvd drive to get the correct files instead of my hard drives? if so how do i go about changing it? or how do i change that one line just to give it a try? Biohead
Did you have any other operating systems installed previously? If not I would reinstall Vista cleanly and see if that rectifies the problem.
