Replacing boot screens in SP2?

Featured Replies

I've followed the directions to replace the boot screen in the sticky thread, but they don't seem to have worked. Nothing has changed after replaing bitmap #1 (and I checked that it had been saved, the hacked ntoskrnl.exe was loaded, etc). The bitmaps are numbered 1 to 15 with 9 to 12 missing. No other bitmap is large enough to be the boot screen. After replacing #5 (a Windows logo and "Microsoft Windows"), the entire boot screen went black except the progress bar. I don't want to use the /NOGUIBOOT method because then I'd lose the progress bar.

Any ideas? :}
