Guest secret52 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I've been using windows since the Windows 95A. It's come a long ways since then. I currently run 5 computers in my house. 3 of them have XP Pro Corporate, 1 has XP Home SP2, and the final one has Server 2003 Enterprise. I'm working on setting up a networked security system using all the computers and my current network.I am however still trying to find one set of instructions. I know this isn't the right place to ask, but how can I use the command prompt to add a windows service and have it run on startup? I had a friend write me a custom program to use for the security system, but I have to manually start it on each computer every time i reboot them. I would rather just add it as a service and start automatically so I don't have to worry about what computer has it running and which one doesn't. I appreciate any help.
prx984 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 (edited) hi and welcome to the forum. to answer your question, you should just be able to put it in the startup directory and it will run the program. Edited August 27, 2006 by Cygnus
Guest secret52 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Tried that and it doesn't work. I still have to manually start it after windows loads.
