I've been using windows since the Windows 95A. It's come a long ways since then. I currently run 5 computers in my house. 3 of them have XP Pro Corporate, 1 has XP Home SP2, and the final one has Server 2003 Enterprise. I'm working on setting up a networked security system using all the computers and my current network.

I am however still trying to find one set of instructions. I know this isn't the right place to ask, but how can I use the command prompt to add a windows service and have it run on startup?

I had a friend write me a custom program to use for the security system, but I have to manually start it on each computer every time i reboot them. I would rather just add it as a service and start automatically so I don't have to worry about what computer has it running and which one doesn't. I appreciate any help.

hi and welcome to the forum. :hello:

to answer your question, you should just be able to put it in the startup directory and it will run the program.

Tried that and it doesn't work. I still have to manually start it after windows loads.
