IWantHelp :) Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 (edited) Hello everyone, I'm so annoyed, I've tried installing Microsoft Word 2003 and another one and other applications but there's always an error, I am using Windows XP Home Edition. Here is what my computer says when I try to install an application:To the effect of... Windows Installer cannot be accessed or is currently not installed. And with Microsoft Word 2003 XP Home it says 'The operating system is not presently configured to run application'.I've looked on my services list on my Computer Management section in Control Panel and have located Windows Installer, I cannot start the service and the executable path is invalid due to IXP000.TMP\MsiExec.exe /V missing from the path. What can I do, I have to download something, maybe the IXP000.TMP file or MsiExec.exe file and then maybe I can start the service and then install this software. Please help! Zxian Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Try using Dial-A-Fix to repair the Windows Installer service. Google it for a link. Welcome to MSFN!
