Hello, ( I think I may have posted this in the wrong place before)

I have taken over the Sharepoint Team Services in house intranet and I am trying to edit the search button. I have discovered that this button is not very secure as I have both an employee site as well as a management site with more secure documents and apparently the employees are able to view these management documents with doing a search. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! I have gone to the contents for help on this and nowhere am I seeing contents for the search button.
