Hello

I'm trying to get Exmerge working. The error I keep getting in Exmerge.log is:

[19:51:25] Error opening message store (MSEMS). Verify that the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is running and that you have the correct permissions to log on. (0x8004011d)

For setting permissions, I have gone into System Manager in Exchagne.

According to this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322312/ , the problem is that I need to enable Send As and Receive As as permissions on the Mailbox Store. I think I have done this (I followed the instructions).

If I go and look at the permissions for the Mailbox Store, I see that Send As and Receive As are both tick for the user who will run Exmerge (administrator). However, when I go into Advanced, I see that Send As and Receive As are both Deny, inherited from the Parent Object.

If I go back up the tree, the next place I can change permissions is SERVER. In here, again Send As and Receive as are Allow in the permissions table, but if I go to Advanced, they are denied by the Parent Object.

Would this be my problem? That is, if the parent object were denying access, then it would explain why it doesn't work? Also, what is the Parent Object in question?

Thank you in advance for your help

Hamish

Hey

I have now followed this howto: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292509/en-us

which suggests making a new security group, and adding the Exmerge user to it.

On my test machine, this worked like a charm, but I still get the same error on the production machine. The only difference I see is that on the test machine, I don't have Administrative Groups in the System Manager ( my Mailbox Store is in SERVER). On the production machine, the Mailbox Store is in Administrative Groups -> first administrative group -> servers -> SERVER

What could be different?

Thanks

Hamish
