Installation Interrupted

Recommended Posts

am running:

Acer RC900

Intel p4 3200mhz

200gb hd

ATI radeon 9800 pro

Windows Xp sp2

I am having this problem with 3 programs, 1: Rome: Total War, 2: Trust Webcam setup and 3: a DCA-540 mobile phone manager.

Each of these setups get right to the end of the installation and then quits with a "The wizard has been interrupted before {app name} was completely installed" message

I had no problems installing Rome: TW previously, but then I did a complete wipe of my hard drive and reinstalled everything (I had a nasty virus i couldnt shake off) but now it wont install.

I have created a log of the install for the mobile phone manager, perhaps it will make sense to someone, and I will create logs for the others when i get a chance.

If you run regmon and filemon (from sysinternals.com) when installing the app, do you see any access denied errors around the time the install fails?

Might it be leftovers from a previous install that's causing the interference? This message suggests as much:

15:42:16 | BUGFIX delete old RegKey: Installer\Products\BD62AAB6E4D26B24CBF3B38541A4466
