dim Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Long time reader, first time poster .. I was just wondering if you guys know of a way to easily disable automatic updates in unattend.txt. In Sp0 on win2k3 Standard we make sure we specify under components,Autoupdate=offand we do the same with Sp1, but for some reason it still installs..Also,I have been looking for a component to turn off Wireless Zero Configuration and Bits in the unattend file, but I haven't had much luck.Do you think its best to add a few lines in the runonce files?
oioldman Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 i think that auotupdate = 1 works with win2k3, easiest way to check is to read the deploy.chm and ref.chm for full details of what does and doesn't work
dim Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 I have reviewed the deploy.chm and ref.chm and they both refer to autoupdate = on|offam i missing something?
dim Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 Entries have been deleted from the following sections:[Components] sectionAutoUpdate ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This is in reference to the 2003 deploy tools... Autoupdate was deleted..
dim Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 It looks like from the data that you have to install Automatic Updates in Windows 2003 Sp1.But in the Data section of the unattend.txt you can do the followingautomaticupdates=0That disables by default...
