I get an error during install that says the microsoft kernel acoustic echo canceller has not been tested for windows xp. I continue anyway, and the install goes through with no problems, but i was wondering if there was a way to stop/disable this message. I have an xp pro disc with all hotfixes and optional updates installed except malicious spywear removal tool, wga, and media connect. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

No way to stop it. That's because the driver isn't digitally signed for windows xp, ie it hasn't been tested for winxp. Usually it has but it either hasn't been signed by microsoft yet or microsoft don't offer driver signing for that type of device.

On my cd with just sp2 integrated I did not get this message, but after using nlite and svcpack to add hotfixes it started. Is one of the hotfixes causing this problem? Would starting over with a clean xp pro sp2 disc fix the problem?

It's not any hardware of his. The Acoustic Echo Canceller is one of the core audio devices that causes lots of problems when not installed. Since it comes with the OS, the driver should be signed, so I dunno what's wrong there. Just make sure you don't cancel the installation of that driver.

Or maybe in RyanVm integrator, in advanced options, he chose to remove all .cat files?

No, I used svcpack and nlite for all updates. Ryan's integrator had way more updates than my disc needed, so I didn't go that route.
