Media Player and ID Tags for wma files

Hi. Is there any way to change track numbers for wma files without manually opening each file and entering the new number? For instance, I have a large number of audio book files taken from a 48 CD collection that are ordered and numbered numerically by file name, but tagged by track numbers 1 through 12 from each of the original CDs. I would like to automatically number all the tracks from all the CD's in numeric order 1 through 576 so they will appear in proper order in my portable music player. I have several sets of CDs like this. If there is a program or method that would do this automatically, it would save a lot of work. Hope this isn't a stupid question. Any help or comments are appreciated...
