CAN'T SAVE THEMES

Back in Feb., Microsoft NZ made the Media Center theme available as a download. I grabbed it, never installed it.

Yesterday I installed it. Works great. One problem: Since installing it, I cannot save ANY desktop themes. If I go into Display Properties | Themes, it says "Modified Theme". But if I click Save As and browse to wherever I want to save the theme, and click Save, the theme is not saved.

I can switch themes, customize themes, etc. Everything else appears to be operating properly. But I cannot save the dang things -- nor is there an uninstall option for the Media Center theme.

I tried manually removing the theme, but to no avail.

Ran SP2 on a lark, didn't fix the problem. Installed StyleXP and Stardock OD WinBlinds; no effect on the problem.

Googling every which way has not produced a single example of a "can't save XP themes" problem.
