win_user Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Hello,I am familiar with the use of OOBE.XML in Vista that enables customizing the Windows Welcome Center and wallpaper etc during Vista Preinstallation process.I would like to know if this is possible post-OS via APIs, modifying the OOBE XML file i.e. Once vista is installed, I would like to run my application that will provide the user the mechanism to select the path to the custom wallpaper and set it through my application. Thanks
fizban2 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 there might be APIS, available to do this but you would have to find those out from MS, you are talking about extremely custom work there not something you everyday admin will do. you could check out the technet forums, post in the vista forums there or the BDD forums, some of the MS peeps could give you a better clue of those APIs are available
