Anything like Resource Monitor for XP?

Featured Replies

The resource monitor in vista is cool. Is there any 3rd party free software like that available now for XP ?

I am not familliar with this Resource Monitor since i have not use Windows Vista yet. However, there is a program called Process Explorer which I think can resemble it. Also, get it while it's free because Microsoft has recently bought out the company and I doubt that the tools on that site will remain free forever.

Process Monitor only lists processes with CPU- and RAM-usage.

I really wished I could monitor all the other resources just as easily as in Vista.

The other tools you can use from Sysinternals is

  • FileMon
    TCPView

Try typing perfmon.exe into the run dialog you get your drive performance.

Used in conjunction with Task Manager you pretty much have the same tools free.
