ifixpc Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 If I've buillt a PC for a customer, and all that is left to do is to install an XP OEM Operating System(that I bought from another system builder)...By having the customer with me could I avoid doing the OPK preinstallation and just use the OEM XP Disk to install the Operating system and then getting the customer to agree to the EULA license when it appears during installation?I only build the occasional PC and it would be no problem for a customer to be with me whilst I installed the operating system from disk RATHER than doing the OPK method.CheersAndy
Jopster Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 (edited) Sure you can do that. The end-user needs to accept it. If he's present he can accept it.Another way is to install the OS for the customer and run Sysprep at the end of the installation. The only disadvantage (from memory) is that the user account you created during the installation will remain, so the customer gets 2 user accounts after creating one himself. Perhaps there's a workaround for that, but I don't know it. Edited July 20, 2006 by Jopster
