mcmitton Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Trying to schedule a Defrag on Windows XP Home, daughter-in-law's older Dell.I've enabled the Task Scheduler to "wake up comuter to run", set time, etc. How do I get Defrag to run without manually selecting the button "defragment"? [I want to be sleeping...] Thank you!MC
Shoshoni Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 (edited) Go to Start > Run and type "cmd /k defrag /?" (without the "") You'll find your answer in the cmd window! Edited July 19, 2006 by Shoshoni
mcmitton Posted July 19, 2006 Author Posted July 19, 2006 WOW!!! That was so fast, I had to duck! I've done as you said, and scheduled one for tomorrow a.m. at 4:00. Now, if my typing is accurate, it should work. Many, many thanks.MC
