z_randy Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. I just got a new laptop. An Acer Aspire 7100 series. Runs windows Home XP. I have 1 gig ram and an 80 gig hard drive in it. My problem is that I have a microsoft wireless mouse that plugs into a USB port. When I have the mouse plugged in the screen saver doesn't work. When it's not plugged in it works. I've tried it in every USB port and the same thing.Any idea if this is a software glitch? Hardware problem? Is there a fix? Thanks!
net_user Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 if you move the mouse...the screensaver will not come on.
z_randy Posted July 17, 2006 Author Posted July 17, 2006 That's funny! I leave it and it doesn't come on. I unplug the wireless mouse and it works.
spacesurfer Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 my guess is your wireless mouse is picking up some movement type activity that prevents the screensave countdown from starting (if that makes any sense).when you unplug, there is no more activity and screensave comes on.
