I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. I just got a new laptop. An Acer Aspire 7100 series. Runs windows Home XP. I have 1 gig ram and an 80 gig hard drive in it. My problem is that I have a microsoft wireless mouse that plugs into a USB port. When I have the mouse plugged in the screen saver doesn't work. When it's not plugged in it works. I've tried it in every USB port and the same thing.

Any idea if this is a software glitch? Hardware problem? Is there a fix?

Thanks!

my guess is your wireless mouse is picking up some movement type activity that prevents the screensave countdown from starting (if that makes any sense).

when you unplug, there is no more activity and screensave comes on.
