Directx won't update

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, forgive me if this topic has already been created and answered, but I couldn't find any relating to my problem when I searched the forum. So I'm making a new topic.

The problem that I'm having is that I cannot update my Directx from 9.0b to 9.0c. Whenever I try installing dx9.0c the installation doesn't even begin, it says right away that I have successfully installed the program. But when I go to dxdiag, the directx version is still 9.0b. Does anyone know what the problem is? Can anyone suggest anything, appreciate any help that I can get. Thanks.

XP SP2 already has DX9c. Check the file versions of a few DX files to make sure.
