XP Pro, Outlook 2003, Symantec Antivirus 10.0 Corporate, Exchange 2003

The problem is that 1 laptop user noticed approximately 20,000 text files on the root of her hard drive. The files resembled the format of:

sqo.1

sqo.2

sqo.3

sqo.4

sqo.5 etc

They were text files of received emails. I thought that Symantec copied the email to a file then scanned it and deleted it, but they had not heard of this before.

Has anyone else experienced this? It is only this 1 laptop user.
