i am working with windows professional slipstreamed disk that i created. i use Virtual PC to test the image before i use it on my system. however i made a few changes to my winnt.sif file and now after windows completly installs and restarts, the first boot Win XP loading screen just locks up indefinatly. i'm not sure what could be causing this. the changes i made in my winnt file were to stop the initial setup screen when windows boots for the frist time from starting up.

Well it's not your winnt.sif I can tell you.

Maybe your kernel files are corrupt.

Winnt.sif is a aswer file,, i don't thik it has to do anything regarding such problems,,

but i request to post the winnt.sif previous settings ( the changes u made)

rebuilding the source may solve the problem

Also dun forget to check the VMWARE virtual DISK size

well last i digged up an unnattended install that i made months ago. i copied the winnt.sif exactly only changing the username/key. this time i was able to install with no problem.. wierd. this is the only thing i changed about the disk. now it works fine.

still can't believe that u changed only username,,

from the example of both winnt.sif u created

there should not be such problem with the changes u made in username section.
