weblancer Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I'm sure this is a newbish question . I've tried to install Adobe CS2 with the Compatibility Wizard. That did not work. I've also turned off the UAP features. And.. still nothing. I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong. I haven't created any new administrator accounts. There is just the one that I initially started after I completed installing Vista.Any help with this situation is greatly appreciated.
ozzbatt Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Vista is a whole new OS (NT 6.0) and you may have to scrap your whole "clean" Vista installation and "upgrade" from a Windows XP installation...I've been having similar problems with my system using drivers, and several programs I own too, but many of my older "Non-NT"/Windows 95-98 programs are the most frustrating because of the lack of patches and other upgrades. All I can say is contact Adobe when Vista is actually released and download the patches, or try contacting them now through tech support email and ask if they have a beta patch - they might even ask you for input and offer you a sweet beta testing deal.Ozz
weblancer Posted June 9, 2006 Author Posted June 9, 2006 Quick update...It seems to be a problem with the complete installer of the Suite. I can install items off of the discs by exploring the contents of the CD. Right now it's a tryout version, but Photoshop is running after I ran the .exe off of the CD. Although it states the 30-day period is over and asks for a serial number. When I run the install, I get to the point of to where it says CS2 is initializing.I can do an 'upgrade' if I have to, but I'd like to find a way to get it running under a 'clean' install if at all possible.
weblancer Posted June 10, 2006 Author Posted June 10, 2006 Update...Well, I have not had any luck. I'm still trying, but I'm out of ideas. If anyone has been able to do this, please post. I'd like to hear how you did it.
weblancer Posted June 11, 2006 Author Posted June 11, 2006 This will be my last post until I run into other problems with the Beta. I was able to upgrade with my applications for XP. It is running smoothly. So... if there are important applications on your system, I'd suggest upgrading.
