Error in XP

I am a Windows XP SP2 user.When I insert my Sandisk Pen drive, My drive letter is not displayed but the properties are available in the device manager.So i tried to access by typing in the letters of the drive

eg.. I:\

and i got this error message

This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.

Can anyone help me?????????????

Could be a group policy or security setting. Are you an administrator of the computer?

if you are an administrator and you still get that message, its most likely due to malware. do a scan with spybot

and/or trendmicro housecall.

Boot from Bart PE. Insert your pendrive. If it is recognised and mounted you have some virus which will prevent access to removable media as also the internet to prevent removal.

What you might need is one of BartPe variations which will connect to the internet, download the latest stinger/live virus removal tool and cure your machine.
