Windows Explorer Error Report!

Good day to all, i just wana ask some help one problem i have in win xp. Everytime i try to open shortcuts in the dsktop it would promp the windows error report saying that windows explorer has encountered an error and it will be closed. that kind of promt is not new to me but what is new to me is after it display the report my unit would hang i need to restart it or log off in order to continue but after that when i turned it on again it would just promt the same error. what do you think is the problem?

Download shellexview from Nirsoft (free) and disable all non-Microsoft shell extensions and reboot. Explorer is likely trying to load a shell extension handler at the point of the crash, and obviously it isn't going well :). Disabling the shell extension should keep the handler from trying to load, and if disabling the non-MS shell extensions resolves the issue, you can then do a divide and conquer on re-enabling those to see which one is the offending extension.
