Problem with MS word and Creating PDF's

Hi there

I have a problem win ms word and creating pdf's

ok with MS word i included a background using the following steps for ms word

format,background,fill effects, picture, select picture, ok

so now i have a background that i can write over and have the same background for many pages.

One problems is when i turn it into a pdf file, the background dissappears and only the text lies there. But if I copy and paste pictures, they stay when I turn to PDF ?????

any ideas how i can keep that background there for every page ?

my next problems is im trying to create links in the document that will link to another area of the same document , that i dont know how to do.

I would be great for answers to both questions . Much appreciated.
