My PC isAMD 3200+*Asus A8N-E mobo*Asus N6600LE 256MB graphix card*Kingston 2x1GB Ram*80+120 GB HDDPulsar 2CDRW Yamaha 8x*The hardware followed by an asterisk (*) are brand new I also disabled the mobo's soundcard.Any help would be much appreciated.
cluberti Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Perhaps you could tell us which sound card you are using, and what driver version - portcls is one of the dll's XP uses to send sound from the system through to your sound card's drivers - perhaps you could configure your machine for a complete dump and we could have a look at the call stacks. It is very possible that portcls.dll is the victim here, and not the culprit, but you won't know for sure until the dump is analyzed.
zazaza Posted May 26, 2006 Author Posted May 26, 2006 hello theremy card is a Pulsar II by creamware. The drivers I must use is Scope platform 4. How can i generate the call stacks you mention?
cluberti Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 The next time it crashes (if configured), the system will generate a complete memory dump. You then open that .dmp file with a debugger.
