Phaaze Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Hello, I'll start by giving you a breif background of the past few days and follow through with my system specifications.About a week ago I had some spyware which I could not get to go away, I did a system restore and ended up having to go into safemode and run CCleaner and HiJackThis. Afterwards, my Adobe Photoshop said that the system was changed and needed "repaired" so I re-installed Adobe Photoshop CS2. Only now PS was lagging alot for me, so I did some research and found there was a update for PS. However, it did not solve my lag issue, I then saw someone said they updated they're ATI driver and it fixed they're lag issue. I figured I'd check to see if there were any nVidia updates form card.I found an update and during installation my system crashed, ever since then I have not been able to boot to the windows logon screen. I get the BSoD with STOP: 0x00000024 (NTFS Error)I was looking around and found ERD Commander, so I got it and was giving it a try. Since I did not want to loose all my data. Anyway, I got ERD Commander running and it was finding the network adapters. Then an error appeared saying "Failed to install network adapter -- check WINBOM" and said "OK". I went to click ok when I noticed I did not have a mouse, the laser on the mouse was not even lit. However, I saw the lights on my keyboard were on so I tried to hit enter and yet it did nothing.I called DELL tech and they were about to walk me through re-installing the OS when I mentioned I do not wish to do so until I am certain I have no way of retreiving my data.I am open for any suggestions on how to resolve this issue, below are some system specifications. Let me know if more are required.--------------XPS 600 SeriesWindows XP Media Edition SP2Intel 3.4 Ghz P4 w/HTnVidia GeForece GTX 256MB120GB ATA HDD 7200 RPM (NTFS Filesystem)48x CD/RW16x DVD/RW--------------Thanks,-DevonEdit:Few responses to some messages I received over MSN Messenger:I have tried accessing it in safemode and it gives me the same error.I obviously cannot backup data because I cannot access it aswell.
