Sending attachments from inside Word 2000

Hi,

WHen I use the "Send to mail recipient (as attachment)" command in Word, the file that ends up in the e-mail does not appear as a Word document but as an unidentified file type. If I attach a file normally in Outlook, this does not happen.

Any ideas how I can fix this??
