asparkes Posted May 10, 2006 Share Posted May 10, 2006 Please can anyone save my hair(I'm tearing it out at the moment and there aint much left!!)whenever I try to send/receive in Outlook I get a fault on the receive side of things that reads: -Task 'pop.ntlworld.com - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'[/bAnyone have any ideas???? TheFlash428 Posted May 10, 2006 Share Posted May 10, 2006 Are you sure you have the correct POP3 settings enabled (including correct port numbers)? The error message seems to indicate a lack of response from the server you are trying to download your mail from. I would check the address(es) for sending and recieving, check the port numbers under the advanced settings (not all mail providers use the default ports, your mail provider should supply you with this information), and also check the username/password settings.
