Fr33m4n Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 I'm having this small but rather annoying problem. I just can't seem to be able to stream any online media what so ever. Take gamespot fo example. If I try to watch any of the video reviews I get the media player to display but it just sits there and dosn't do anything. Clicking the play button dosn't help eather. However, I can display videos in flash just fine from for example youtube. But that is probably because it relies on a standalone plugin to work. I think the problem lies with windows media player. I think that wmp somehow has been tweaked to not accept any incoming connections. Does anyone have any idea how I might fix this? thx in advance.-Fr33m4n.
Fr33m4n Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 I found the answer myself. I've been googleing for hours now and I finally found the solution. It was so low tech that I hadn't even bothered checking it. In the tools>options> network menu you have to select what protocols, if any, that you wish to allow wmp to stream over. Turns out they were all un-selected. I just put a mark in the checkboxes and suddenly everything was working as it should.
