conflictz Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Ok, I had a recent problem with my desktop and its context menu. When I right clicked, it would just stay at the Timer Icon. So I downloaded ShellExView and tried to fix it. As a result, inside ShellExView, I sent the desktop icon to my desktop. Now its stuck there and wont move anywhere. Unfortunately my system restore will not work. Any word of advice? or am I stuck to have to reformat again with 3 days of getting it back from the computer store? Thanks, Regards,Conflictz
conflictz Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 Hello? sorry for double post, just wanted to see if anyone could help with my problem....Thanks, ConflictzBumppp
T D Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Have you tried system restore?Read the original message and I think you'll find he has tried sys restore. To conflictz: Try the recovery console.
snafumaster Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 before I did anything, I would find my istallation cd, insert it into my cd drive and then click the start button, select run and type sfc /scannowfrom microsoft,http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documen...r.mspx?mfr=true
cluberti Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 I guess I should not read posts that early in the morning - if system restore does not work, perhaps sfc /scannow or a repair install will get you back in business.
conflictz Posted April 16, 2006 Author Posted April 16, 2006 (edited) Thanks for the replies guys, the only one i can probably do is scannow, cause the install disc is from my technician, and he's a hard person to find....so ill see what i can do, thanks. =D Edited April 16, 2006 by conflictz
